Some of you have heard me talk about the Twenty Pound Hammer Bingo game we’ll be running in December. Since December starts on Friday(!!), it’s time to let everyone in on the details! The short and sweet explanation is that you will have a Bingo card with a 5×5 grid of 25 tasks or challenges. Every line of completed tasks will get you one entry into a prize drawing in early January. The long and involved explanation continues below, so keep reading for all the details!
Important note: some challenges will take place in the gym. For you to get credit for those challenges, please tell a coach BEFORE you start the task.
We have a stack of bingo cards in the office. Anyone who wants to participate (that should be all of you) can come pick up a card. Each card has a 5×5 grid, and each of the 25 squares has a task or challenge to complete.
- Pick a task to complete
- Get a sticker from a coach to mark off the square once you complete the task
- Keep repeating through the month of December
Each completed line gets you one raffle entry, and a full square gets you an additional five entries. We will do a drawing in early January for prizes! We don’t have a complete prize list yet…but there will be multiple drawings, so you’ll have more than one chance to win something fun. Prizes will range from restaurant gift certificates to fitness-related swag to an unlimited month of membership at TPH. We’ll announce specific prizes throughout December, so stay tuned to social media for more details. If you are involved with a company or product that you think would be a good fit for a prize, get in touch with Monica!
Bingo will run through the entire month of December, so you can pick up a card anytime from now until December 30th. Of course the sooner you pick up your card, the sooner you can start marking off the squares! Some of the tasks can be done inside the gym, others outside.
So…why Bingo? Because December can be a tough month! Despite the joy of holidays, this season can be really stressful. Those of you who work out regularly know how good working out makes you feel, and how much it helps you relieve stress. Those benefits are especially important during times like now when people have so much going on and are even more tempted than usual to overindulge in food and alcohol. Working out is its own reward (maybe the endorphins are the real reward), but sometimes internal motivation just isn’t sufficient to help you prioritize yourself, get to the gym, and stay focused on your wellness even when you’re outside the gym. If that’s the case for you, we hope a little external motivation will sweeten the deal and help you feel healthier and happier through the end of 2017 and beyond.
