Introducing Coach Geoff
Geoff Meno will be coaching the 5am class on Mondays. Our 6am crew has gotten to know Geoff over the last couple of months, and his friendly face will be a welcome sight for all you early birds! Geoff first discovered CrossFit in 2008, while operating on the Iraqi/Syrian border with a Marine Corps reconnaissance unit. Their gym equipment was little more than sand bags and tires, but they made do. Back in the US, he got his Level 1 Certification and began coaching his fellow Marines.
Geoff left the Marine Corps and returned home to Seattle in 2010, then resumed coaching CrossFit in 2011. He received his CF-Level 2 Certification early this year, and decided to join CrossFit Twenty Pound Hammer as a member a few months ago. He loves coaching, and has been a driving force behind our decision to start the 5am class — so please thank him if you like getting up early to work out! He really enjoys connecting with members and fostering a sense of community in all his classes.
Outside of CrossFit, Geoff and his wife met at the University of Washington and now have two kids – a 3 year old son and a 1 year old daughter – who keep them plenty busy. They enjoy local sporting events, traveling, and getting outside to see all that the beautiful PNW has to offer. When not coaching CrossFit or chasing his kids, he is a financial advisor with an office at Fishermen’s Terminal.
Geoff will be coaching mostly Monday 5am, and occasionally filling in other classes. Please join us in welcoming him to our coaching staff!
