We are so excited to announce details of our Pride event, which is just over two weeks away!
It is not a competition, but an opportunity to support a great cause while working out and having fun. Our goal is to raise $1000, which we will donate to Lambert House, King County’s only LGBTQ youth center.
What: a gym-wide (and beyond) partner WOD with prizes!
Who: this event is for everyone; we welcome member AND non-member participants of all fitness levels. Teams will be 2-4 people, and we can help you find a partner or team if you don’t have one.
Where: Twenty Pound Hammer, 4550 9th Ave. NW, Ballard
When: Saturday, June 26th from 7.30AM – 10.30AM (first heat starts at 8AM)

Lambert House is one of only 24 independent LGBTQ youth centers in the world. Its 30+ programs aim to minimize the health and mental health risks LGBTQ+ youth face, including family or peer rejection that can lead to depression, homelessness, or suicide; using alcohol and other drugs as coping mechanisms that can lead to addiction; anti-gay bullying in school that can lead to skipping classes and a disproportionately high rate of school failure; high rates of smoking and risk-taking behaviors due to minority stress and low self-esteem; and homelessness that can lead to survival sex and HIV.
As a gym, TPH focuses on physical fitness. But we see this as inextricably linked to emotional and mental health. Everyone deserves a place where they belong and can be themselves. Many of our members find this at TPH; Lambert House offers the same sense of belonging to LGBTQ+ youth who may not find it anywhere else.
How You Can Contribute
Registration is free; we encourage you to donate if you can. $10 per shirt, $15 per sweatshirt, and all Venmo donations will go toward our fundraising goal. (Apparel contributions apply to Pride apparel only, not regular TPH-branded gear.) People who attend the event will also be able to purchase tasty treats from our bake sale!
Coming off a really exciting and energizing Memorial Day Murph, we are so excited for our members and broader community to join us in making this event a success and creating a positive impact outside the gym.
See you on the 26th!
-Monica, Melissa, and the TPH Team
