Hi, I’m Monica! I am most interested in working with people who are ready to get strong and address lifestyle factors to become more resilient, capable humans. I especially love introducing people to strength training. If you are a woman in your 40s to 80s with little to no previous strength training experience but know you need to start, I would LOVE to work with you!
I bring a wide variety of experiences to my career as a fitness professional. I spent my late teens and early 20s smoking a pack a day of Marlboro Reds and getting hooked on all sorts of unhealthy substances. Since then, I have been a theology grad student, a professional baker, a CrossFit athlete, a bodybuilder, and am currently a gym owner and mom to a 9 month old son! My experiences have taught me that one size really does not fit all.
With that said, I do believe strength is the most important physical quality for longevity and overall quality of life, and my approach to lifestyle and program design reflects that. If you are a little scared of or intimidated by weights, I’m your person! I will help you get comfortable in the gym, and you will probably grow to love it. But if you do not want to get any stronger than you currently are, I am not your ideal coach.
